Yachats is home to artist galleries, great dining, gift shops and hiking trails. It also provides easy walking and driving access to many awe-inspiring and paintable views. There are more trails at gorgeous Cape Perpetua Scenic Area, the highest point of the Oregon Coast.
See the Accomodation section for suggested lodgings within a short distance of Yachats.

When you register for this workshop, I'll send an artist-workshop agreement to the email address under which you are registered.
Travel insurance is not required for this trip. If you're flying into the area, we always recommend travel insurance.
We uphold all current CDC guidelines.
We can rideshare for any excursions, though there is much available within easy walking distance of town and the Yachats Commons, where we'll meet for indoor sessions. And of course, you're welcome to take your own vehicle. Public parking is readily available on the coast.
The charming town of Yachats (say YAH-hots) is named after the Yachats River, and sits at the base of the Oregon Coast Range along the Pacific. It's home to artist galleries and gift shops and hiking trails at gorgeous Cape Perpetua Scenic Area, the highest point of the Oregon Coast.
Weather can vary hugely, so be prepared for sun, wind, and rain in May.
Comfortable safe walking shoes are a good idea. Maybe a couple of pair. I always take extra socks. There are some truly spectacular beach and old-growth forest hikes withing minutes. Come prepared so you don't miss out.
Remember your camera, phone and charger!
Bring your own travel easels, chair and gear. We will have an optional gouache paint kit which will be available closer to the workshop, if you'd like to try your hand with gouache but don't know which colors or brushes or surfaces to buy.
Get a tide chart. Your lodgings host will likely have a printed table for you, or you can find one online. Pay attention to tide charts and warnings. Respect the mighty power of Mother Ocean.
